Intruder Questionaire
- What is your name?
- What is your occupation?
- Describe your appearance?
- How would others describe your personality?
- What is your greatest fear?
- What is your secret?
- Do you know any of the other guests?
- How do you feel about them?
- Why are you in the house?
- How do you hope to be changed by this experience?
After you are finished, do this part.
I’m not sure if there will be any kind of mechanical benefit to answering any of these questions. Perhaps if you confront your greatest fear or tell someone your secret, you can get some sort of bump in your Psychological or Spiritual Endurance, whereas someone who discovers your secret or if you are confronted by your fear you might lose extra.
How can I make this more competetive?
I don’t want this to simply be Intruders versus The House.

Brennen,
Are players “intruders” or are they “guests”? perhaps there’s some sort of switch where things go from benign to malignant in the house from character to character as tied to your clock?
the questions feel a bit generic and not tied to the mechanics yet. i’d scrap whatever isn’t necessary and come back to them as the engine matures. also, is there some advantage for one player to throw another “under the bus” so to speak? Frequent motif in these movies is a moral breakdown where the fastest person eventually runs faster or only one person will fit in the safe spot: i could see your character flaws and “secrets” coming into play there.
best, eric

Eric,
The players are being referred to as “guests” because that is how they think of themselves.
There is absolutely going to be some pushing folks out into traffic. There is something in the house that each character wants. It may be the “safe spot” you mention, or it might be a treasure hidden in the house.
Part of the reason I asked the questions is to get ideas for mechanics that are based on the answers.
I’m considering having the role of The House rotate from player to player.

Hey Brennan,
The second phase “Then do this” doesn’t make sense.
